Shoots and bookings
Learn how to book a photographer or videographer in the platform, change or cancel a booking, and what regional, travel and day-of extras cost.
How do I book a shoot?
Shoots are booked through "New project". A booking is 2 credits for the first 4 hours, then 0.5 credit per extra hour. You can book the shoot on its own or with editing. The credit total updates live as you fill in the brief.
- 1Select "New project", then "Book a shoot".
- 2Choose "Videography" or "Photography".
- 3Fill in the shoot brief: "Location", "Date and shoot time", "What do you need captured?", "On-site contact" and "Access or parking instructions". Add files and a reference if you have them.
- 4Check the credit total and submit.
Note: Book the full time window you expect. Overtime on the day is 1 credit per hour, double the booked rate. Need a teleprompter or drone? Say so in the brief so the right creator is matched. Each adds 0.5 credit.
How do I change or cancel a booking?
Open Shoot bookings and use the "Upcoming" and "Past" tabs to find the shoot. Open the booking and select "Edit shoot brief" to change details, or "Cancel shoot" to cancel. Canceling 48 hours or more before the shoot start time is free. Inside 48 hours, a 50% fee applies to the shoot portion of the booking, rounded up to the nearest half credit.
Note: The 48 hours are calendar hours, not business hours. The fee covers the shoot time and shoot add-ons only. Editing, an edited photo set and express delivery are refunded in full.
Where can I shoot, and what do travel and regional shoots cost?
SoCreative's network of vetted creators covers 100+ cities, and you book them inside the platform. A regional location adds 1 credit. Travel beyond 20 miles (about 32 km) adds 0.5 credit and travel beyond 30 miles (about 48 km) adds 1 credit; only one travel tier applies.
- •Additional location: 0.5 credit each, up to 3 locations in total.
- •Early start before 8am or late finish after 8pm: 0.5 credit each.
- •Saturday: 0.5 credit. Sunday or public holiday: 1 credit.
What happens after the shoot?
Raw files appear in the portal within 2 business days. For photography, an edited photo set costs 1 credit and arrives in 3 business days, or 2 business days with express delivery for 0.5 credit. For a video shoot booked with editing, allow 1 business day for file transfer before the editing turnaround starts.
